MEDIA DAYS

We provide exciting immersive experiences for your media and press team to help them understand how a newsroom works and how to best deal with journalists.
Our Media Day puts your media and press team in charge of a TV news programme for a day. You have to decide which stories to run, how to cover them, and how to write them up as a hard hitting series of stories. The programme is filmed live and presented by your team.
During the production time, your team will face the challenge of breaking news, conference calls with senior editors from the news division, and planning meetings in which they have to argue their case for how they want the programme to look.
The day is managed by journalists who have worked on some of the highest profile television news programmes in theUK. Participants will gain an understanding of what is happening at the other end of the phone, when they call a newsroom and help them understand why some stories make it to air and some don’t.
Your team will be given guidance on what the real life editor of the programme wants from an interview. They will have to brief their own presenters on how best to conduct the interview and then carry out the interview themselves, which will then be filmed by our crew.
The experience improves the way people deal with journalists and help improve the effectiveness of the team. It is also fun.
Participants receive a DVD of the day and a debrief by senior working journalists about how they have done, how they could have improved the programme and a guide to what works best for journalists in providing them stories which they can use in the time they can use them.
EXECUTIVE MEDIA PREPARATION
Senior Executives will be guided in a one-on-one session about how to talk to journalists, what they can expect from them and how different types of interviews require different skills. This is a bespoke service for people likely to be in the limelight. It shares the experience of journalists who have been reporting on the world of finance and business for decades. It will provide your key executives with an in-depth understanding of how a journalist approaches an interview, how best to engage with an interview, and get their point across.
